Dittofeed is an open-source customer engagement platform for sending automated and transactional messages. Teams build journeys, segments and templates and deliver them over channels such as email, SMS, mobile push, WhatsApp and Slack, complemented by webhooks and integrations. The software is released under the MIT licence and presents itself as a self-hostable alternative to commercial messaging tools such as Customer.io, OneSignal and Segment Engage. You can run it on your own infrastructure or use it as a managed cloud service.
Dittofeed is developed by Idea Market, Inc., a United States company whose privacy policy gives an address in San Francisco. As a US-based provider, its managed cloud service falls under US jurisdiction, including the CLOUD Act. The vendor does not state hosting regions for that cloud service. Because the code is MIT-licensed, a European organisation can also run the software itself, with a European hosting provider or on its own servers, and keep subscriber data and message content under its own control. The privacy policy addresses the GDPR and names an EEA representative in Ireland.
